In addition to eight public holidays, you'll be entitled to 30 days' holiday per annum.
You'll also be eligible to participate in our bonus scheme, which is based on achieving targets linked to the business plan and will be explained to you in more detail on entry.
On joining us, you'll be able to apply for membership of the combined Nuclear Pension Plan. Our contractual retirement age will be 65 from 1 October 2006 onwards.
This scheme provides a payment to your family, in addition to benefits payable under the Pension Scheme.
A key element in delivering our plans and programmes of work is the active engagement of our entire workforce at all levels. We work hard to maintain a mature and positive relationship with both our employees and their representatives based on consistent, open and meaningful communications and underpinned by robust human relations processes and policies.
To meet customer targets, we are developing and growing our people, empowering them to seek innovative ways in which to continuously improve performance. We work in partnership with the trade unions to implement and manage changes required - whether it is development of new skills or internal mobility - to ensure focused and sustained delivery of performance targets.
Employer of choice
We offer competitive benefits and incentive packages, which have enabled us to attract and retain high calibre employees. Family friendly policies, including career breaks and flexible working are also part of our policy.
We value good working relationships with our employees to promote safety, quality and performance in all that we do. Our target achievement scheme is an incentive based programme, amongst others, designed to engender shared success. As well as our extensive formal consultative process with employee representatives, we consult widely with employees affected by major business change. We also conduct employee opinion surveys to monitor views and to benchmark future progress.
We invest significantly in training and development to enable employees to perform their jobs safely and effectively and to fulfil their potential. Our development programmes range from apprentice training, workplace development and team leader development through to high potential and senior management development programmes. Employees are encouraged to seek membership of professional bodies that support our business objectives.
We always seek to deal responsibly and professionally with any genuine concern that employees express, from grievance through to allegations of serious malpractice. All concerns are investigated and effective policies are in place to deal with any complaint of discrimination, harassment or bullying.
Long-term success relies on our ability to conduct operations in a socially and environmentally responsible way. In line with the company policy, it means striving for the highest possible standards in all areas of corporate responsibility. Our approach shapes the way we do business and provides the foundation upon which our unique programme of stakeholder engagement will be developed in the future.
Our role in society
As a business operating in many different communities, we have a key role to play in society. To earn the trust and respect of our neighbouring communities and the people who live within them, we will operate safely and responsibly and make a positive contribution by targeting our support where it is needed the most - tackling difficult social issues and encouraging economic regeneration around the sites where we operate.
We are open and transparent – working with our local communities and engaging with all our stakeholders to nurture relationships bound by mutual trust and benefit.
