Magnox sponsors £2,000 bursaries for local students

Magnox Ltd, in partnership with Careers Wales, has awarded £500 bursaries to four students, who are studying science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) based degrees.

Iwan Roberts, Siôn Jones, Peri Jones and Daniel Treharne are studying STEM subjects at universities across the UK, and are former pupils from Ysgol y Berwyn, Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Pwllheli and Dolgellau.

Linda Clegg, HR Manager at Trawsfynydd Site, said: “There are exciting career prospects in science and engineering related industries for young people in North Wales. We hope that our support will act as an incentive to those studying STEM subjects in the area.”

Claire Burgess, Professional Development Coordinator for Careers Wales, said: “We are pleased to work with Magnox Ltd, Trawsfynydd to offer the STEM bursary to young people who are currently studying STEM subjects in Further Education.”
